I spent the last week up in Skye, and found this amusing gravestone in the graveyard with the Flora McDonald monument near Duntulm. Surrounded by traditional gravestones, this boulder stood out.
Below it lies a climber who died in 1945 when a boulder fell on him - Sure 65 years later the tongue in cheek humour is funny, but can you imagine arranging for a boulder to sit above the deceased’s body for all eternity, when it was a boulder that put him there in the first place? That’s like commissioning a gravestone shaped like a pack of cigarettes for someone who died from smoking.
